Friends, to me it means a new member to your family ( If I was to describe family in one word it would be Asylum). You can talk about whatever you want to that person and not have him/her telling anyone else about what you said and not talk about you. So basically I'm defining a best friend.
This is one thing that does not define a friend: someone who comes to you with a smile one minute then gossips about about your back. Like is that a friend or is that a Big Crapped Phony. Like if you were to do something by accident about your friend and then quickly tell them, that to me is still a friend because he's being honest. But if the friend takes your accident and starts to act up especially in front of someone then later talks about you, that my audience is not a friend is a snake.
Definition of Asylum:
1. An institution for the care of people, especially those with physical or mental impairments, who require organized supervision or assistance.
2. A place offering protection and safety; a shelter.
3. A place, such as a church, formerly constituting an inviolable refuge for criminals or debtors.
4. The protection afforded by a sanctuary.
5. Protection and immunity from extradition granted by a government to a political refugee from another country.
